HARRISON, N.Y. – Small Business Saturday is coming to Harrison this weekend as 100 establishments participate in the American Express-promoted event.
“It’s a great idea for people to shop at small businesses and support them,” said Carly D’Arpino, wife of Chamber of Commerce president Anthony D’Arpino.
D’Arpino said he was excited for the day, which falls in between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. His store, Harrison Wine Vault, will be one of the many involved.
His wife said it was important for Harrison residents and others throughout the country to “give the little guys a chance.”
“We think everyone should go out no matter where they live to support their local stores and establishments,” said D’Arpino, who added some might need the help after Hurricane Sandy closed stores for days.
