PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Purchase-based PepsiCo is one of the world's most admired companies, according to a new ranking by Fortune Magazine.

PepsiCo was ranked 37 overall and third in food companies. Previously the soft drink giant was ranked second in food companies.

Apple, Google and Amazon had the top three spots.
