Health Tech 2014 is a two-day conference from May 7-8 spotlighting the key players in the health technology industry of Westchester County and the potential for its expansion. It will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown.

According to the event's organizers, "Westchester is home to a $10 billion healthcare industry, as well as tech giant IBM, plus a roster of biotech companies including Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Histogenetics, Acorda Therapeutics, Profectus BioSciences and Progenics, among them."

Brian Kolonick, director of Healthcare Innovation Alliance at Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Steven Safyer, chief executive officer of Montefiore Medical Center will be the keynote speakers.

Other notable speakers and attendees include, Dr. Laura Forese, president of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System; John Gunn, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Dr. Neil Stahl, senior vice president of Research and Development Sciences at Regeneron in Tarrytown.

The conference will feature panels on topics such as crowd-funding and breakthroughs in healthcare technology, along with several breakout groups and networking sessions.

A particularly unique part of the conference is the "Pitch To The Pros," contest, where innovators from around the region will pitch their projects to a panel of key players in the industry in hopes of receiving a $10,000 cash grant and acceptance into the BLUEPRINT Accelerator Network.

The Westchester County Association's BLUEPRINT for Westchester initiative aims to stimulate economic development in the county and accelerate its growth, and make Westchester County a, "vital link in a thriving Northeast health-tech economic hub."

Additionally, the Purchase College Science Entrepreneurship Award will be presented to a lucky recipient.

Tickets for the two-day conference are $425. Tickets for the first day only are also available for $225.
