Missing Westport Broker Found Dead

The body of Westport real estate broker Arthur "Art" Dean Reinhart was found Friday morning behind a cemetery in Portsmouth, N.H., the Union Leader in Manchester, N.H., reports.

Reinhart, 50, was last seen on March 22 by his brother in Lexington, N.C., before he left to drive back to his home in Fairfield. He was last heard from on April 2 in an email he sent from Provincetown, Mass., where he stayed at a hotel, the newspaper reports.

Reinhart's body was found by a police dog behind the Calvary Cemetery at approximately 11:45 a.m. There was no word on a suspected cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.

"We treat all deaths like this as suspicious," Portsmouth Police Capt. Corey MacDonald told the Union Leader.

Reinhart was officially reported missing on April 12. On April 13, his Jeep was found parked and locked in a commuter lot in Portsmouth. His luggage, wallet and other personal belongings were inside the car, Portsmouth police said.

The commuter lot is near the cemetery where Reinhart's body was found.

The Union Leader reports that Reinhart was spotted on an ATM video checking his account balance in Stratham, N.H., on April 2. Police said that was the last confirmed sighting of him. Activity on his cell phone stopped on April 5 in the area where his car was found.

Reinhart worked at the Deak & Associates Prudential Connecticut Realty office on Post Road East. A message seeking comment was left for Jonathan Deak on Friday afternoon.

A message seeking more information about Reinhart's case was also left for Police Capt. Corey MacDonald Friday.
