A car took out a utility pole on Greens Farms Road in Westport late Friday morning. Westport police and firefighters responded to the call around 11:15 a.m. and found that a Volkswagen Jetta had hit and severed a CL&P utility pole near 256 Greens Farms Road.
The driver was not injured and refused to be taken to the hospital, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kepchar reported. CL&P workers were called to the scene to start the work of replacing the pole.
This was one of four accidents Westport police and firefighters responded to Friday.
