The village's Community Emergency Response Team is set to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Village Hall. The Village of Elmsford formed CERT during 2013. The mission of the team is to "assist the Village in instances of an emergency in various capacities," representatives said.

The CERT program is intended to educate people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as CPR, sheltering, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations, village officials said.

Team meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month. Residents are invited to come by and meet their neighbors who are already members of the team.

Those interested in joining are asked to contact Barbara Eannazzo at 914-418-2092 or cert@elmsfordny.org
