The fire was snuffed a little after 10:30 p.m., more than a half-hour after South Hackensack emergency workers spotted smoke.
The fire was in a building near the South Hackensack border on Huyler Street.
Carlstadt, Little Ferry and Moonachie firefighters provided mutual aid.
“All worked together and everyone did a great job on a very stubborn fire,” one emergency responder said.
