John Szajnoga has games he likes more than the Magnificent Multiplier online game from the Virginia Lottery, but he decided to play it anyway, because of the jackpot amount.

That decision was worth $274,659.

Long story short, he won. When Szainoga claimed his prize, he told Lottery officials, “It just felt amazing, and I was in total disbelief.”

Szajnoga plans to put some of his winnings towards paying bills and his kids’ college and the rest into savings.

Magnificent Multiplier features a progressive, growing jackpot and can be accessed at the Lottery’s website, valottery.com, or on the Lottery’s mobile app. The odds per game of winning a prize are 1 in 3.87.

All Virginia Lottery profits go to K-12 education in Virginia. Szajnoga lives in Virginia Beach, which received nearly $37.4 million in Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year. In Fiscal Year 2022, the Lottery raised more than $779 million for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.
