Events will take place both at the parish’s South Salem church, St. John’s at 82 Spring St. and at St. Paul’s Chapel on Route 123 in Vista.
The Rev. Joseph Campo, rector of the parish, said, “What better way to bring happiness to the people of our town than to share with them the tremendous joy our parish family feels at this time of year, as we herald Christ’s coming in song and prayer.”
The festivities include:
- Sunday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. at St. John’s: Advent Lessons and Carols
Brother Richard Lorino, BSG, will lead the St. John’s Choir in a beautiful and moving evening of prayer, scripture readings, hymns and carols celebrating the start of the Advent season.
- Saturday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s: A Joyful Noises Noel
Raise the roof at our beautiful Victorian chapel as you sing along to your favorite Christmas carols and gospel hymns! Members of the Antioch Baptist Choir of Bedford Hills will join in.
Admission is free and refreshments will follow the regular 5 p.m. service.
- Sunday, Dec. 21, during the 9:30 a.m. service at St. John’s: Church School Christmas Pageant
The children will touch hearts and lift spirits as they bring to life the story of the Christ Child's coming. Pageant director Claudia Nerreau promises that this year's pageant, like all that have preceded it, will contain magical moments to treasure long after the Christmas season has passed.
- Wednesday, Dec. 24 Christmas Eve Services
3:30 p.m.: Family Service at St. Paul’s
5:30 p.m.: Family Service at St. John’s
9:30 p.m.: Christmas music and solemn Holy Eucharist at St. John’s
