The march will start at 2 p.m. at Flint Park in Larchmont and end with a rally at the Kemper Memorial at the Mamaroneck High School.
Speakers include:
- Catherine Parker, County Legislator
- George Latimer, State Senator
- Andrew Courtney, artist, teacher and activist for social change. He is also co-coordinator of the Hudson Valley "Call to Action: Syrian Refugees" and a Croton resident
- Ahed Festuk, activist from Syria
"There is too much fear and not enough facts about refugees and the safety and thoroughness of the process," said Elaine Wanderer, communications director of Hearts and Homes for Refugees, Larchmont Mamaroneck of the reasoning behind the rally.
"Consider this: The U.S. has settled 3 million refugees since 1980 and those refugees are responsible for zero American deaths. The vetting is sound."
