HARRISON, N.Y. -- Purchase's Manhattanville College is holding its seventh annual Human Rights Awareness Day on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m.
Nick Lawson, the director of Field Human Resources for Doctors Without Borders, is the keynote speaker. His talk begins at 3 p.m.
Following his speech will be a workshop on human rights and diversity led by the Student Initiative for Diversity and Inclusion.
At 6:45 p.m. the film, "The Last Survivor", a documentary presenting stories from genocide survivors, will be screened. A panel discussion led by Dr. Roger Luhiriri, Executive Director of the Spine Africa Project, and Neil Ginsberg, Advisor to the Human Rights Coalition and Scarsdale High School teacher will follow.
What once started as a class project has turned into a major campus-wide event. It is completely student-run and organized.
