Bridge Work To Begin On Danbury's Long Ridge Road; Expect Lane Closures

DANBURY, Conn. -- A bridge replacement project will begin Wednesday on Long Ridge Road in Danbury, causing lasting lane closures and detours, the Public Works Department announced.

The work will continue on Long Ridge Road, near Eureka Reservoir, into the spring.

While most of the replacement work is done, Long Ridge Road, at the bridge, will be one-way alternating traffic. This is to allow for residential traffic, schools buses and emergency vehicles.

During limited periods, total roadway closures will be required. Appropriate detours will then be put into place.

Drivers should plan for detours and road closures throughout this time period and use alternate routes whenever possible.
