Port Chester students have been invited to sing at the 8 p.m. show at the Capitol Theatre, according to Linda Penney Ventura, choral director at PCHS.

"Each time, the kids are very excited about it,'' Ventura told Daily Voice. "We are pleased and excited to be asked again, both for the thrill of singing with such a tremendous group such as Foreigner, and as supporters of The Grammy Foundation, which is Foreigner's most supported music education group ."

"To be able to sing one of Foreigner's top hits with the group ('I Want to Know What Love Is') is typically a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We are delighted to have this 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience for three years running," Ventura said.

The 12 Port Chester students performing with Foreigner are: Michael Bansey, Samuel Brown, Alfred DiLeo, Jason Hodge, Erica Margiotta, Taylor Masi, Gisella McCallion, Robert Mickatavage, Elizabeth Montermurro, Colby Quinlan, Briana Velazquez and Danielle Winchester.

Foreigner, originally formed in 1975, has 10 multi-platinum albums as well as 16 Top 30 hits, and has sold more than 75 million albums with hits like Juke Box Hero, Feels Like the First Time, Urgent, Head Games, Say You Will, Cold As Ice and Hot Blooded.

Foreigner will donate $500 to Port Chester's Select Choir for appearing with the band and the choir will sell Foreigner CDs at the concert to raise monies for Foreigner’s charity partner, The Grammy Foundation. Both Foreigner and The Grammy Foundation are intent upon helping to keep music education available to students as part of the core curriculum in high schools throughout North America. The entire proceeds of the choir’s CD sales from this show are contributed to this initiative.
