The March, a sister event to the DC one on the same day, goes from  Dag Hammarskloldj Plaza to Trump Tower beginning at 11 a.m, though, with so many predicted to attend, there are staggered starting times. The synagogue group's scheduled marching time is at 11:50 a.m.

They are asking folks to meet at Grand Central in front of Vanderbilt Hall at 10:50 a.m. The group is also organizing meet-ups at the Port Chester, Rye and Harrison train stations for folks who want to take Metro North together.

As for why the group has organized, Synagogue Member Debbie Friedman said she doesn't want to see equal rights in our country go backward under the new administration.

"We’ve made a lot of progress in legislating for equal rights in our country and in becoming a more inclusive country, and I don’t want to see us backslide while this new administration is in power," she said.

"I think it's critical that we work to protect the rights of all Americans – regardless of gender, race, religion and sexual orientation."

Cantor Melanie Cooperman added a bit of the Jewish angle. "It's really about social justice," she said, "Which is a key element in Reform Judaism. We're continually engaging to be God’s partner in repairing the world."

She said she considered the March a way for folks to "pray with their feet." "This is really a march of anti-hate, anti-discrimination and pro-equality."

Stressed Friedman: "The Women’s March on NYC is an opportunity for all of us to speak up and make our voices heard. We are not marching against anything -- rather we are marching to promote equality and civil rights for all Americans."

Rsvp to Friedman at dfriedman66@gmail.com if interested in attending. Include name, email address, cell phone number and meeting place for each marcher.
