Sidewalk Sale Hails Visitors From All Places

Minor Thompson of Costa Rica took full advantage of the New Rochelle Business Improvement District's Sidewalk Sale Wednesday.

Although he didn't have much luck as first, Thompson said he believed he would be successful in finding such items as t-shirts, tennis shoes, and maybe more for his family back in Costa Rica.

"Finally I think I'm going to find somethings," he said checking shoe sizes.

The sidewalk sale event takes place on Main Street until Saturday.

Famous individuals have graced the event in past years such as First Lady Michelle Obama, who reportedly attended the 2009 spring sale.

Patrons from New Rochelle and residents from all over Westchester County also come and experience what the sale has to offer. The New Rochelle Business Improvement District is an 11-year-old non-profit organization, comprised of over 800 business and property owners strives to maintain the downtown area including the safety of streets, adequacy of parking, and inspiring activities and events.
