George P. Hofer, 66, Longtime Danbury Resident

DANBURY, Conn. - George P. Hofer of Danbury died Tuesday, Sept. 24. He was 66.

Hofer was born May 15, 1947, in Budapest, Hungary, son of Bela and Gabriella (Anders) Hofer. He attended grade school and trade school in Hungary and immigrated to the United States in 1966. He lived in White Plains, N.Y., and has been a Danbury resident since 1973. He had been a member of the St. Gregory Church Holy Name Society.

Hofer is survived by his wife, Elsie (Colquhoun) Hofer; daughters, Elsa Pine (Greg) of Morganville, N.J., Andrea Cicchelli (John) of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and Elizabeth Hofer of Stamford; brothers, Bela Hofer and Tomi Hofer of Germany; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Babu Nemeti.

Calling hours are Saturday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Interment will be private.
