O'Donnell, a Nyack resident who also lived in Saddle River, turns 55 on Tuesday.
O'Donnell, a television personality, comedian, actress and author, was born on March 21, 1962, in Commack, N.Y.
She is an LGBT advocate and came out in 2002. She was married twice and has five children.
Her big break was on the talent show "Star Search" in 1984. From 1996 to 2002, she hosted "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," which won multiple Emmy Awards.
"Rosie Radio" on Sirius XM Radio from 2009 to 2011 and she signed with OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network with "The Rosie Show" in 2011.
She was rehired to join "The View" as a co-host but left in February 2015 citing personal reasons.
