Friday, Jan. 4

Open Play: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Parents, grandparents, caregivers and children can meet up to play, read and have fun at the West Harrison Library, 2 Madison St., West Harrison.

Senior Citizens Club: Noon to 2 p.m. The Harrison Senior Citizens Club will get together to discuss topics of interest and play bingo at the Veterans Building. For more information, call 914-227-7088. 210 Halstead Ave., Harrison.

Meet the Artist: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Harrison Public Library patrons can meet Ruth O. Carlucci and see her many paintings in this opening reception. Her works, entitled "Winter Grays," will be in the gallery from Dec. 30 to Jan. 26. 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison

Meet A Local Author: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Joan Katen, an award-winning Pace professor, will speak about her newest novel, "Love at the Edge."
