What To Do In Harrison This Weekend

HARRISON, N.Y. – A Harrison High School pep rally, library events and a local club meeting are some of the events in Harrison and West Harrison this weekend. Check out our Events page for even more things to do.

Friday, Oct. 19

Staying Connected with Your Teen: 10 a.m. to noon. This Harrison Youth Council-sponsored event will help Japanese parents stay connected with their teenagers. 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Senior Citizens Club: Noon to 3 p.m. The Harrison Senior Citizens Club will discuss items of interest and play bingo. For more information, call 914-227-7088. Veterans Building, 210 Halstead Ave., Harrison.

Harrison High Pep Rally: 7 p.m. The pep rally comes a day before the Harrison High School football team squares off against Rye High School. 255 Union Ave., Harrison.

Saturday, Oct. 20

ACT/SAT Exam Practice: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students can take a combined SAT/ACT test to figure out on which they will perform better. Registration is required. Call 914-948-2092 to register for this West Harrison Library event. 2 Madison St., West Harrison.

Computer Orientation: 10-11 a.m. The Harrison Public Library class is for people to learn the computerized library catalog and the Internet. 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Defensive Driving Course: 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This Harrison Public Library event is limited to 35 people. It costs $17 for AARP members and $19 for non-members with a check going directly to the teacher. You must sign up at the library or by calling 914-835-0324. 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors: 11 a.m. to noon. Kids of all ages have the chance to read to therapy dogs. Harrison Public Library, 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Sunday, Oct. 21

New York Japan CineFest: 2-3 p.m. Japanese director Yasu Suzuki will take part in a Q&A after his short film, “Squared Radius Times Heart” is shown. 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Gift Baskets Raffle: 4-4:30 p.m. The Friends of the Harrison Public Library will be raffling off gift baskets currently on display at the library. You can take a chance for $1 or six chances for $5. The raffle will take place during this half-hour time period. Winners do not have to be present in order to win.
