HARRISON, N.Y. – Legendary musicians David Crosby and Graham Nash will perform on Friday March 16 at the Performing Arts Center at SUNY Purchase beginning at 8:30 p.m. Here’s a list of other events in Harrison for next week.

Monday, March 12

  • The Harrison Public Library will host “Storyland” for children ages 3 to 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event will involve stories, songs, movement and activities for children.
  • Manhattanville College will host Daniel’s Music Foundation at the Duchesne Center from 4:50 p.m. to 9 p.m. The program, founded by 22-year-old Daniel Trush, a survivor of five brain aneurysms, aims to provide free music to people with disabilities in the New York City Metropolitan area.
  • The Harrison Central School District will host the Senior Art Award and Solo Exhibit Opening Reception at the Superintendent’s Art Gallery from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 13

  • A PTA meeting will be held at Louis M. Klein Middle School at 9:30 a.m.
  • Musician Robert Markowitz (The Guitar Guy) will perform for children at the Harrison Public Library from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event is for children of all ages.
  • The West Harrison Public Library invites children and their parents to meet other parents, grandparents, caregivers and children. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., is meant to give children an opportunity to make new friends, play, read and have fun.
  • The West Harrison Library is holding a class to introduce people to Facebook. The workshop, which runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., will teach newcomers to Facebook everything they need to know to use the website. Attendees are asked to have their email address available for the class.
  • Harrison High School will host a PTA meeting at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Harrison Town Board will hold a public work session regarding the town’s master plan at 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building located at 216 Halstead Ave.

Wednesday, March 14

  • Harrison public school students have the day off for a Superintendent’s Conference Day.
  • Dr. Fawzia Afzal-Khan will read and perform works from her memoir “Lahore with Love: Growing Up With Girlfriends Pakistani Style, The Chronicle of Higher Education.” The event is a living history of Pakistan from the perspective of a Muslim woman. The event will be held in the red room of the student services building at SUNY Purchase from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A book signing will follow the talk.
  • The Millennium Book Club will meet at the Harrison Public Library from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • The West Harrison Public Library will hold craft time from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday, March 15

  • A PTA meeting will be held at Harrison Avenue School at 9:15 a.m.
  • A computer class focusing on “mouse skills” will be held at the Harrison Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The class is designed for new computer users who will be guided through basic computer terminology, turning the computer on and off property and using a mouse.
  • Louis M. Klein Middle School will host two performances by drama students. The first performance will begin at 1:15 p.m. while the second show starts at 7:15 p.m.
  • Mentoring Program “Caring Circle” will hold a workshop for children and teenagers that deal with grief expression for those who have lost a loved one. The event will be held at Manhattanville College from 5 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
  • The West Harrison Public Library will hold craft time from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The Harrison Town Board will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building located at 1 Heineman Place.

Friday, March 16

  • Harrison Avenue School will host “Family Movie Night” beginning at 6:30 p.m.
  • Legendary musicians David Crosby and Graham Nash will perform at the Performing Arts Center at SUNY Purchase beginning at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the event cost between $100 and $150. For more information call the ticket office at 914-251-6200.
