Monday, April 30

Science Symposium: 7 p.m. Harrison High School hosts a “Science Symposium.” 255 Union Ave., Harrison.

A Conversation with Artie Siccardi: 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Join SUNY Purchase for a special evening with one of the foremost Broadway Technical Supervisors of the past 30+ years and has recently been named as a recipient of the 2012 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre Award. Siccardi has worked on over 200 shows including the Broadway productions “Billy Elliot: The Musical “Cats,” “Dreamgirls,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Annie,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” “Sunday in the Park with George,” “Fences,” “Chess,” “The Heidi Chronicles,” “Broadway Bound,” “The Real Thing,” “The Color Purple” and more. 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase.

Small Jazz & Percussion Ensembles Concert: 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The Manhattanville Small Jazz Ensemble directed by Jay Azzolina and the college’s Percussion Ensemble directed by Ron Vincent will perform, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase.

Classical Music With Ron Bianchi: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Former Mayor Ron Bianchi hosts a night of classical music at the Harrison Public Library, 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Tuesday, May 1

Creative Movement Through Dance 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. Children ages 2 through 4 will get an introduction to dance through creative movement games and imaginative stories. The fee is $105 for eight weeks. Cabaret in the Castle: 8 p.m. – 9 p.m. & 10 p.m. – 11 p.m. Mark Cherry will direct the Manhattanville College Cabaret Singers for two performances at the Reid Castle, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase.

Faculty Lecture: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Manhattanville College Professor Robert Schmidlein will give a lecture titled “Urban Elementary Physical Educators’ Perspectives,” 2900 Purchase St., Purchase.

Artist Lecture: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. SUNY Purchase will host Alfredo Jaar, an artist, architect and filmmaker who lives and works in New York. He was born in Santiago de Chile in 1956. His work has been shown extensively around the world. He has participated in the Biennales of Venice (1986, 2007), São Paulo (1987, 1989), Sydney (1990), Istanbul (1995), Kwangju (1995, 2000), Johannesburg (1997), and Seville (2006), as well as the Documenta exhibitions (1987, 2002) in Kassel, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase.

Symphonic Winds Concert: 7 p.m. SUNY Purchase hosts the Purchase Symphonic Winds under the direction of Graham Ashton, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase.

Orchestra Concert: 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The Manhattanville College Community Orchestra will perform under the direction of conductor Christopher J. Hisey at Reid Castle, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase.

Board of Education Meeting: 8:15 p.m. The board of education will meet at the LMK Library, 50 Union Ave., Harrison.

Thursday, May 3

Percussion Showcase: 7 p.m. The Harrison High School Percussion Ensemble will perform at the Harrison Performing Arts Center at the high school, 255 Union Ave., Harrison.

Jazz & Wind Ensemble Concert: 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Manhattanville’s Jazz and Wind ensembles, under the direction of Terry Reynolds, will perform at the Berman Students’ Center, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase.

Town/Village Board Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Harrison Town/Village Board will meet at the Municipal Building, 1 Heineman Place, Harrison.

Friday, May 4

ACT Registration: Today is the last day Harrison High School students can register to take the ACT exam.
