HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison residents can experience the sounds of Woodstock at a concert by Back to the Garden 1969 at Riis Park Wednesday.
The Rye-based band covers music performed at the legendary Woodstock Festival in 1969. Members include Gary Adamson, Mike Garner, Annie Masciandaro, Bob Fonseca, Larry Kelly and Fred Walcott. Decked out in tie-dye and peace signs, they seek to recreate the spirit of the era by performing hits from acts such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Janis Joplin.
The concert is presented free by Harrison Recreation as part of its summer concert series. Free concerts will be hosted every Wednesday night this summer in Riis Park, and every Thursday night on the West Harrison Village Green. Concerts begin at 7 p.m.
