More than 150 guests attended the afternoon of chamber music on Nov. 9 to benefit the research programs of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF).
David Eger of White Plain, who has Parkinson’s disease, assists with the organization of the event every year with his team of volunteers. To date, Music for Parkinson’s Research has raised more than $500,000.
The Attacca Quartet, Quartet in Residence for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, returned to the stage with local pianist Gena Raps of New York, New York. The Quartet also premiered an original piece by local composer Gregory Palitz.
Guests enjoyed a wine and cheese reception with the musicians after the concert, along with a raffle that featured prizes from local businesses.
“PDF is hugely grateful to Dr. Eger and his committee for pulling off another triumph with the best edition of Music for Parkinson's Research yet. We had a great venue, a full house, terrific music and a handsome bottom line of funds raised for Parkinson's research – all served up in an ambiance of artistic passion and gentle friendship,” said PDF President Robin Elliott.
