Soak Up Summer At These Westchester Outdoor Dining Spots

Westchester County is loaded with "hot" spots - everything from rooftop decks to waterside terraces and secluded patios. 

The following is a list of spots that serve up a healthy dose of sunshine, ideal for sipping icy margaritas, digging into a tangy lobster roll, relishing a juicy burger, or simply taking in the view. 

Alvin & Friends, New Rochelle: An expansive outdoor patio ups the heat on the Caribbean-inspired food at Alvin's where host Alvin Clayton always dones his best to make you feel right at home. Dine Alfresco: 14 Memorial Hwy, New Rochelle, (914) 654-6549.

Bar Harbor, Mamaroneck: There's outdoor seating in both the front and back of Bar Harbor, giving you two ambiance options, one of which overlooks the street, the other Mamaroneck Harbor. bartaco, Port Chester: This iconic summer spot never disappoints with its fresh guacamole, fish tacos, cold Dos Equis, and frosty margaritas. Known for its casual waterfront taqueria setting on the Byram River, it has a vibrant party atmosphere that heats up come summertime. Dine Alfresco: 1 Willett Ave., Port Chester, (914) 937-8226.

Boat House, Ossining: You can't get much closer to the water than here were at the restaurant's Boat Bar (a bar made out of a sailboat) you'll find stools and table to dig into your burger, salad or clam po'boy. Cafe Hudson, Yonkers: The remodeled Cafe Hudson now features a beach theme with real sand, outdoor grilling, picnic tables and a cornhole game. Dine Alfresco: 1 Van Der Donck St, Yonkers, (914) 338-7542.

Dolphin Restaurant, Yonkers: Superb seafood and attentive service are one reason to dine at Dolphin; the other is the riverfront perch. Come summer, there's always great people-watching, just another reason to sip on a Chardonnay and stay awhile. Dine Alfresco: 1 Van Der Donck St., Yonkers, (914) 751-8170.

Maggie Spillane's Ale House, Mount Vernon: Pub food and frosty beers are on tap at Molly''s where, thanks to its rooftop dining, there's plenty of room to meet up with friends. Happy hour on the roof is Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dine Alfresco: 571 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon, (914) 699-8900. There's also outdoor dining at Molly Spillane's in Mamaroneck.

Encore Bistro Francais, Larchmont: Enjoy a taste of Paris in the heart of Larchmont while also enjoying the parade of people watching from a sidewalk perch. Dine Alfresco:  22 Chatsworth Ave., Larchmont, (914) 833-1661.

Fortina, Armonk: A generous patio allows you the freedom to feast on a gourmet pizza, where no one minds if the kids make a fuss. Dine Alfresco: 17 Maple Ave., Armonk, (914) 273-0900.

Harvest on Hudson, Hastings-on-Hudson: Harvest ranks among the county's most stunning outdoor locales thanks to its garden (where ingredients are used in the restaurant's Mediterranean cuisine) and outdoor patio views of the Hudson. Pier Restaurant & Tiki Bar, Rye: Head to the beach... at least this suburban rendition of the Tropics and let your workday stresses melt away. Poised on the boardwalk steps away from Rye Playland it's the perfect summer escape made all the more merry with one of the restaurant's decadent frozen concoctions. Dine Alfresco: 1 Playland Parkway, Rye (914) 967-1020. Red Hat On The River, Irvington: Talk about the perfect locale with the ideal view. Options for taking in the Hudson and the twinkling lights of the Tappan Zee include the rooftop lounge or the water-level patio where your Maine lobster roll or fresh, chopped salad begs to be paired with another glass of rosé. Dine Alfresco: 1 Bridge St,. RiverMarket Bar And Kitchen, Tarrytown: Expect organic and seasonal fare at this Hudson Valley inspired farm-to-table restaurant where the outdoor patio affords stunning views of the Hudson. Dine Alfresco: 127 W Main St,. Tarrytown, (914) 631-3100.

Sedona Taphouse, Mamaroneck: Gluten-free options and a long list of beers define this new taphouse where a generous side patio makes for a "hot" spot to spend a summer night. Dine Alfresco: 640 E Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck, (914) 341-1511.

Winston's, Mount Kisco: Head to the roof where, come Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. the eatery offers live music, drink specials, and authentic BBQ dishes.
