The Westchester In White Plains Dishes On New Eateries

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A collection of eclectic eateries – including some of Manhattan’s and Connecticut’s most popular and notable casual dining hot spots – announced that they will join the mall’s new Savor Westchester 350-seat dining venue, part of a multimillion-dollar enhancement completed last year.

Mall owner Simon announced this week that Whitmans New York, Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque, Juice Generation, Tomato & Co., and coffee shop Bluestone Lane will be part of the new Savor Westchester when it opens in April, with the Japanese-casual concept Hai Street Kitchen joining this summer.

“The Westchester will now feature the first-class dining destination that its loyal shoppers have requested,’’ said Paula Kelliher, director of marketing for The Westchester. “Each of these new eateries will bring their unique brand – from healthy to hearty – to a spectacular dining experience that will draw foodies as well as shoppers from across the region.”

Meghann Martindale, Simon’s Director of Leasing said, “We believe Savor Westchester will help fill a major dining void in White Plains. It will appeal to the downtown daytime population, the surrounding communities, and our guests who have been shopping the mall for over two decades.”

The venue includes an outdoor dining terrace overlooking downtown White Plains. Adjacent to Savor Westchester on Level 4, shoppers can experience two entertainment areas, PLAY, a 2,300-square-foot interactive, educational play area sponsored by Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital that incorporates the principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) and CONNECT, a technology lounge featuring nine flat screen televisions in a 16-foot by 9-foot viewing wall, showing sports, news and entertainment programming, and boasting complimentary iPad and phone charging stations. Both are currently open.
