Paws and Play's clients gave generous monetary donations and also contributed a wide range of supplies from Pet Rescue’s “wish list.”

The results of the campaign were presented to Pet Rescue at its location in Harrison on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The donations were delivered by Paws and Play’s owner Matt Sellechia and its six-and-a-half-foot-tall mascot Pawley.

Each year Paws and Play organizes activities and collects donations for local not-for-profit animal care organizations.

“Our lobby quickly filled up with everything from treats, food, and toys," said Sellechia. "The generosity of our clients was amazing, which shouldn’t be a surprise as they are all dog lovers who care about the treatment of the animals. For the holidays, we took photos of our client’s dogs with Mrs Claus and her Elves, who were visiting from the North Pole, and a portion of the proceeds from those photos contributed to our donations to Pet Rescue.”

Beth McCabe, spokesperson for Pet Rescue, said, “I want to thank Paws and Play and their clients so much for their generous donation of toys and other much needed items! Thank you for thinking of our pets. This will help them stay content until they find their forever home.”

Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization founded in 1982 and located in Harrison. Its mission is to aid homeless, abandoned and neglected cats and dogs, to nurture them in the foster care of volunteers, to provide veterinary care and socialization, and to place them in permanent loving and responsible homes.
