“It's such a different kind of feeling on the live show than the TV show,” said Yo Gabba founder Scott Schultz. “Every time we do it, I can’t believe the kind of celebration it is.”

"Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out!" is the third tour for the popular series that broadcasts worldwide, infusing retro-style and beat-driven music to teach simple life lessons. “If you go to the live show you’ll feel the excitement is turned up to 11. It seems short, clocking in at a little under an hour, but it’s non-stop,” said Schultz.

The live performance will feature all of the show’s favorite colorful creatures and characters from the series including Brobee, the little green one, Foofa, the pink flower bubble, Muno, the red Cyclops, Toodee, the blue cat-dragon, Plex, the yellow robot, and of course, DJ Lance Rock.

Schultz and co-creator Christian Jacobs both toured as musicians in the past and  wanted the live show to be less of a narrative musical and more like a concert. “Like a kid’s first pop concert,” he said. “It features all the kids favorite songs and Lance is telling everyone to get up and sing with us.”

Schultz said when the show was created, he and Jacobs wanted to create a show they could experience with their own children. “I have a 2-year-old now and [=(this tour) was her first time going to the live show.

Seeing the excitement when she sees that’s really Lance and the characters, that’s what makes it even better,” he said, adding that his daughter doesn’t yet know her father is one of the masterminds behind the show.

Yo Gabba Gabba! series regular and Hip-hop legend Biz Markie will join the cast on stage with Biz’s Beat of the Day. The show will also feature Super Music Friends and Dancey Dance guest performances. In the past, guests have included Moby, Snoop Dogg, Dave Grohl, and Lou Diamond Phillips.

“The kids don’t know which bands are which or which celebrities are which it’s not about who’s the biggest celebrity or band, it’s about providing an eclectic approach to art, animation, music and in a kind of way that is a genuine offering for our kids to like,” he said.

"Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!" will have two showings on Sunday, Jan. 27. Doors for the 2 p.m. show open at 1 p.m. Doors for the 5 p.m. show open at 4 p.m. The show is all ages and all children, one year or older, must purchase tickets.

Admission is $26, $51 or $61 depending on seating. To purchase tickets for either “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!” show visit The Capitol Theatre website.
