HARRISON, N.Y. - Mark Anthony Garretto, a recently retired Westchester County assistant district attorney of Harrison, died Oct. 26 after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 58.
A member of the New York State Bar Association, Garretto was a district prosecutor from 1978 to 2010, when he retired due to his illness. The son of Leonard and the late Theresa Garretto, he was born on Sep. 15, 1953. He graduated from American University and New York Law School and was a member of the Westchester County District Attorney's Organization.
Garretto was also a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish, where he was a lector and a former member of the Parish Council. He also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and yardwork. Surviving are his wife Nancy Garretto, his son Geoffrey Garretto with his wife Melissa, his daughter Kristen Davidson with her husband Jeffrey, his father Leonard and two grandchildren.
Visitation hours are Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Parish on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
