Facebook Grieves For Sandy Hook Shooting Victims

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The shooting at Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary School has shaken the nation and many have taken to Facebook and social media to express their sympathies.

Charlotte Bacon was six-years-old when she was shot at Sandy Hook Elementary School. A memorial facebook page was created to remember her and the other victims.

Over 120,000 people have liked a memorial Facebook page for the victims of the Sandy Hook Massacre that took place Friday. The black ribbon has become a symbol of remembrance for the event.

With the release of the victim’s names on Saturday came 26 memorial pages for them, especially the 20 children who died.

Prayers and sympathies were posted to a memorial page for Charlotte Bacon, 6, from all over the country and the world.

“Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Charlotte's Family. Your Family is in our Hearts, thoughts and Prayers,” posted Genny Dubus of Alabama.

Others from Australia, Israel, Poland and Canada expressed their sadness for the violence and death of the children on Charlotte’s page.

“Dear Lewis Family, I am a mom of two and I remember the day I sent my youngest to kindergarten like it was yesterday. I am so sorry for the devastation you must feel and for this senseless loss of your beautiful little boy. We all over the United States and right here in Austin, Tx are praying and loving you all from afar and standing with you in spirit. God Bless your family, you will not be far from our hearts and prayers for many days to come,” Sarahbeth Oltrogge posted on the memorial page of Jesse Lewis.
