HARRISON, N.Y. - The following letter was sent to Harrison reporter Phil Corso from former Harrison candidate for county legislator Frank Acocella. The letter details why Democratic candidate Dan Brakewood would be a suitable county legislator for District 6. Brakewood will run for the position in November's general election against David Gelfarb (R, C).
District 6 represents Harrison, Rye and Port Chester on the county Board of Legislators.
I am writing to express strong support for Dan Brakewood for county legislator (District 6 Harrison, Port Chester & Rye Brook). I briefly considered running for this seat myself, and am following Dan Brakewood's race against David Gelfarb with great interest. I have a solid understanding of the backgrounds and platforms of both candidates, and am confident that Dan Brakewood is the best choice to represent our interests at the county level.
Dan was selected by the Democratic voters of the sixth legislative district because he successfully outlined a compelling agenda for positive change in our county. He represents independent and pragmatic thinking that will ultimately lead to savings. He is focused on addressing the issues that concern all of us and being the peoples' advocate for lower county property taxes. Dan has the professional and public service experience to prioritize how we spend tax dollars to meet the needs of residents, restructure our government to make it more transparent and effective and leverage new technologies to improve how all of our local governments work.
Dan has the vision to drive positive change in our county government, and he has the experience to get the job done. As someone who has worked hard to deliver results as a trustee in Port Chester, Dan is well-known and strongly supported by Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated voters in Port Chester. Harrison voters need to tune into Dan's message because it is one that resonates for all of us. Let's give this rising star the opportunity to roll up his sleeves and work for District 6.
