On Friday, a GoFundMe fundraising page was opened for the family of Miguel Angel, who was crossing the street near the intersection of South Broadway and Vark Street in Yonkers when he was struck by a car on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency responders performed CPR at the scene before Miguel was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later. No charges were filed against the driver, though an investigation is ongoing.

“The father, Lorenzo Rosas, is not only a co-worker, but a friend who is full of love and genuine happiness on a daily basis at work, and it is impossible to imagine that something so tragic could happen to such wonderful people,” the GoFundMe page reads. “No parent should ever have to endure the pain of burying their child, particularly during the holiday season.

“We are requesting that you can find it in your heart to help us raise money to relieve a bit of the burden off of the family.”

Those interested in donating in memory of Miguel Angel can do so here. Anyone with additional information about the accident can contact Yonkers detectives at (914) 377-7724.
