Harley Dichter, 12, created a line of seven products, called Harley Dichter Designs, for a fundraiser held Saturday at Lester's in Rye Brook. Harley thought of the project in conjunction with her upcoming Bat Mitzvah at the Jewish Community Center in Harrison.
Harley's mother, Shoshana Dichter, called the fundraiser "a huge success" with about 75 to 100 patrons stopping by. About $2,000 was raised, she said.
Harley, who is a 7th grader at Louis M. Klein Middle School, said she has enjoyed summer camps in Maine, so wants to send ill children with their families to Camp Sunshine.
The Harrison teen -- who also is a class treasurer at LMK -- designed shoelaces, retractable earbuds, a phone wallet with a stand, two styles of sunglasses, lip balm and a canvas tote bag using Camp Sunshine's signature yellow color. Her products were sold at Saturday's fundraiser.
