Harrison Man Films Reality Show At Former Sports Store

HARRISON, N.Y. – A long-vacant Harrison sports shop turned into a film studio Thursday, Aug. 7,  for a prospective reality television show starring a commercial real estate agent from Harrison.

Tony Mazzulli is the director of the commercial division at Keller Williams and works out of White Plains.

Multiple cameras and microphones followed Tony Mazzulli all night: every conversation, every drink poured, every photo taken in front of the banner for his in-the-works show, “The Big Deal.” The scene was a party celebrating the development of the former Sam's Sports Shop on Halstead Avenue into 47 residential units, a deal Mazzulli brokered as the director of Keller Williams’ commercial division.

After the party guests -- mostly friends and colleagues from the real estate world -- filed out, the music stopped, and Mazzulli proceeded to film another scene. In it he tells the audience about a $30 million to $33 million deal he is working on in Manhattan. In the middle of the scene, he gets a call from the property owner looking to sell, and he offers his advice on how to get the best possible return.

Filming started two months ago and will continue in September to capture Mazzulli working with clients on some “Big Deals.” They are filming a full pilot but will submit a condensed version of it, called a sizzler, to the networks. Mazzulli said he hired a consultant who works on “The Bachelor” who will make a big push with the networks.

“It’s my dream and it’s finally coming true, so I’m happy,” he said.

At the half party, half television shoot, Mazzulli’s colleagues, many from his days at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in White Plains, and friends weighed in on “The Big Deal.”

“Obviously, I think it’s a great idea,” said Paul Sarlo, a residential real estate agent at Coldwell Banker. “Being that commercial is so private, I don’t know how the general public is going to take to it, so he’s going to have to add a lot of drama… He’s got a good background to make it work.”

Brittany Sandarciero works with Mazzulli at Keller Williams and said she thinks his show will get picked up.

“They had ‘Million Dollar Listing’ for residential, but they don’t have anything for commercial,” she said. “I think it’s the perfect man to fit the perfect storyline.”

Jessica Felice grew up with Mazzulli, who she said was like a big brother to her.

“Ultimately, he sells properties, he sells commercial real estate, and I say, ‘Why not show the world how he does it, with conviction,’” she said. “So kudos to him and go rock it.”
