Harrison Resident Reacts to New Chamber Head

HARRISON, N.Y. – In a letter sent to The Daily Harrison, town resident Marc Douglas Bianchi said a new president for the local chamber of commerce means a new opportunity for business in downtown Harrison. With revitalizing Harrison's downtown business district remaining a top priority for new chamber President Anthony D'Arpino, Bianchi said he hoped the new board would consider looking around for some inspiration.

D'Arpino replaced former president, Ada Angarano, who resigned from the position last month.

Bianchi submitted and wrote the following message in its entirety in response to the new chamber president:

With regard to the Harrison Chamber of Commerce and trying to revitalize the downtown area, I would make the suggestion that at some point in time, they take a look at Ambler, Pennsylvania. Within the last 10+ years this downtown area which is close to some extremely affluent suburbs revitalized itself with restaurants, shopping, salons, fitness clubs, live theatre and also a restored vintage movie theater. It is generally packed. I had made this suggestion at one point last year to Ms. Angarano and would renew the idea that the chamber can potentially be successful by studying what other towns did to become successful...again.

Good luck.

Very best regards,

Marc Douglas Bianchi
