HARRISON, N.Y. - Lifelong Harrison resident, Anita Mary Prete died Feb. 22 at her home. She was 94.
The daughter of Samuel and Anna Mazzucca, she was born Oct. 13, 1917 in Harrison. Prete graduated from Harrison High School in 1935 and married Frank Prete on Sept. 14, 1941 at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison.
Prete worked for the Harrison Central School District Board of Education for over 20 years before retiring in 1983. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory parish and a member of the Harrison Senior Citizens for over 30 years. Prete was also an active charter member of the Father Edward F. O'Sullivan Council Columbiettes for over 45 years.
She is survived by her children, Frank, Anthony (Robin) and Karen (Jackie), six grandchildren and a great-grandson. Prete was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1991.
Visiting hours are from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Harrison Funeral Home. The funeral mass will take place at St. Gregory the Great Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday with interment follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
