Harrison's Huttunen Named Scholarship Recipient From Finlandia Foundation

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Juuli Huttunen of Harrison is a recipient of a scholarship from Finlandia Foundation National, the premier network of Finnish-American organizations in the U.S.

Huttunen is studying political science within the Social and Behavioral Sciences College at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

The foundation is now accepting applications for its 2015 scholarships. 

Fulltime undergraduate (sophomore or higher) students and graduate students at accredited post-secondary institutions are eligible to apply for scholarships.

The 21 recipients in 2014 included American, Finnish and dual citizen Finnish-Americans pursing a range of studies in the U.S. and Finland. Applicants of Finnish-American heritage and/or studying subjects related to Finnish culture receive special consideration.

The foundation also offers the P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Scholarship for American and Finnish law students. Deadline for applications is Feb. 2, 2015.
