HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison High School sophomore Liliane Lindsay's accomplishments go beyond the water and her academics, but those two disparate skill have helped her secure the label of scholar/athlete.

Lindsay is a member of the Pelham Community Rowing Association, Westchester's only community rowing club with students from more than 10 area high schools. She received the honor alongside several other teammates for maintaining a grade-point average of 90  or better during the competitive fall season.

The local rower has already barrelled through plenty of athletic experience, having competed in the Head of the Charles Regatta last October, and in other competitions throughout the northeast. Last year, her quad of four rowers won the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championships, which qualified them to move onto the Nationals.

Lindsay, a sophomore at Harrison High School, started rowing five years ago and has received various honors and recognition for her hard work. When she isn't in the water, however, Lindsay also works with the award-winning Harrison High School Marching Band, the Model Congress and the school's math club.
