For the past several years, Starker has been rallying his colleagues in the financial services industry to support children with special needs at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, the region’s only pediatric post-acute care organization that provides long-term rehabilitation for children with catastrophic illness, serious injury, congenital conditions and life-long complications from premature birth.

Through Starker’s support, St. Mary’s has been a benefiting charity of BTIG’s Charity Trading Day for the last four years.

In addition to his previous support, Starker and BTIG, LLC, a global financial services firm specializing in institutional trading and related brokerage services, are now helping to support the industry’s premier benefit event, Cocktails with a Cause, on Tuesday, July 15, at STK Rooftop Downtown in New York to raise funds to support critical programs and services at St. Mary’s.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support St. Mary’s state-of-the-art neuro-rehabilitation program, which helps children with brain injuries and neurological impairments regain function and independence.

Cocktails with a Cause is a cocktail party and networking event that attracts the "who’s who" from New York’s financial services industry and various other supporters.

This year’s event includes a live auction featuring Yankees Legend seats, a celebrity chef package, autographed sports memorabilia and more. Special guests include actor Stephen Baldwin, Miss USA 2012 Nana Meriwether, Channel 7 entertainment reporter Sandy Kenyon and Dr. Phil DeFina of the International Brain Research Foundation.
