WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Representatives of the White Plains-based Westchester Community Jewish Services recently honored two local women at the organization’s annual gala in Harrison.
Volunteers Karen Blumenthal and Emily Grant were honored for their contributions to Westchester County, according to a press release.
Mike Kaplowitz, chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, and Kevin Plunkett, Westchester’s deputy county executive, presented Blumenthal and Grant with their awards.
The gala, held Wednesday, at the Willow Ridge Country Club, raised a record-breaking $730,000 for the organization.
“We are gratified by the overwhelming support of our donors, sponsors and attendees who gave generously, and who value the vital impact WJCS is making to strengthen the lives of Westchester residents,” Susan Lewen, the organization’s director of development, said in a press release.
