Joseph Cardillo, 91, West Harrison Photographer

WEST HARRISON, N.Y. – Joseph L. Cardillo, 91, of West Harrison, died Friday, April 20. 

Cardillo was a founding member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison.

He was born Oct. 25, 1920, to Leo and Mary Cardillo. He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946. Cardillo's lifelong career and passion was photography. He had been a member of St. Anthony of Padua parish for 83 years and loved calling Bingo numbers, working at the "festa" and capturing the church's history through photographs.  

Cardillo is survived by nine children, Len (Rosie) Cardillo, of Tarrytown, Ken (Paulette) Cardillo, of Wilton, Conn., Carol Cardillo-Skolas of Fairfield, Conn., MaryLou (Ken) Castellano, of Brewster, N.Y., Joe (Megan) Cardillo Jr., of Sutton, N.H., Richard Cardillo and his life partner, Peter Diffly, of Jersey City, N.J., Annie (Edmund) Holden, of Rhinebeck, N.Y., Betsy (Peter) Evans, of Scarsdale, and Paul (Rachel) Cardillo, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Lee, and a grandson, Daniel Cardillo. 

Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Church. McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daniel Cardillo Charitable Foundation.
