Letter: Brakewood the 'Only Choice' for Legislator

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - The following letter was sent to Harrison reporter Phil Corso detailing why Democratic candidate Dan Brakewood would be a suitable county legislator for District 6. Brakewood will run for the position in November's general election against David Gelfarb (R, C).

District 6 represents Harrison, Rye and Port Chester on the county Board of Legislators.

On Nov. 8, voters of Port Chester, Rye Brook and Harrision will, with the power of their vote, elect our next representative for county legislator. Dan Brakewood is the outstanding choice. His only agenda is the welfare of those he represents, and he'll not be swayed by any person or party.

Right now, important issues have to take a back seat. The main thing is that voters realize the importance of voting and fulfill that obligation. People say their vote wouldn't count, but they're absolutely wrong. Every vote counts.

I 'm appealing to all parties to vote for Dan Brakewood, because he'll represent everyone. As you can see by the Occupy Wall Street protestors, each party is fighting against corruption and corporate greed. The protestors represent all political parties but are united in the fight to have the American dream to earn a good living and enjoying life as they used to. Don't vote party. Vote for the best candidate.

Voting for Dan Brakewood is a step in the right direction. He has shown this by his performance as trustee. He's tough and he's not afraid to speak out about anything or to anyone when he feels it's not in the people's best interest. He'll do the same thing when he is county legislator. He is out to make changes in county government. Let's help him do it by giving him our vote.
