Halas is currently the executive director of the Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc., a founding member organization of NPW.
Halas also co-chairs the Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect and the Early Childhood Planning Group. She serves on the executive board of the Westchester Women’s Agenda and the advisory committee of the Westchester Children’s Association.
Terry Kirchner, executive director of the Westchester Library system, was named vice president of the BPW board.
Additionally, four new members were elected to the NPW board of directors: Tracy Kay, executive director of Westchester Children’s Museum; Alisa Kesten, executive director of Volunteer New York!; Maria Imperial, chief executive officer of the YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester; and Greg Maher, executive director of Leviticus 25:23 Alternative Fund.
“Kathy has been an integral part of our organization since we first started. We are so pleased to now have her lead the Board,” Joanna Straub, NPW executive director said in a statement. “Terry, Tracy, Alisa, Maria and Greg will also bring new ideas to our team this year. We look forward to 2015 being a year of new ideas and a fresh perspective on how we can continue to grow awareness of the nonprofit sector in Westchester.”
