Snowstorm Postpones Grammy Nominee's Show With Port Chester High Students

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- This weekend's forecast of a major blizzard along the East Coast prompted the postponement of Saturday's local concert with Grammy Award-nominated musician Seth Glier.

Grammy Award nominee Seth Glier will perform at a fundraising event for the Port Chester High School Drama Club Association on March 12. Here, from his latest album, Glier sings "If I Could Change One Thing." The original concert was set for Jan. 23.

Glier will now perform on March 12 during the rescheduled fundraiser for Port Chester High School's Drama Club Association.

“We are very excited that this gives us more time to promote this awesome event," said T. Sean Herbert.

Herbert and his wife are the proud parents of two PCHS Drama Club members.

"The kids spoke with Seth Glier this afternoon after being informed of the weather postponement," Herbert said on Thursday. "And they can’t wait to rehearse with Seth in March.”

Caryn Furst, a spokeswoman for the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District, said Thursday that more details will be released closer to the March concert date.

Students have been invited to perform a few songs with Glier in the Port Chester High School Auditorium. They are raising money for their spring production of "Pippin."

Glier will perform a 15-song set, according to Josh Tenzer, Port Chester's drama coach and special education teacher. Glier will sing four songs with PCHS's "Pippin" cast.

Tickets are not being sold in advance for the 7 p.m. show. The high school auditorium seats about 600 people. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. All proceeds will go directly to production of the spring musical.
