The YWCA Funkist Show will host two performances at 3 p.m. today (Aug. 20) for Lower Camp and at 3 p.m. Friday Upper Camp at the YWCA White Plains and Westchester, 515 North St. in White Plains.
More than 200 children will take part in the musical chosen for its themes of tolerance and acceptance. It’s the group’s second production, having put on “The Lion King” at the camp’s four week mid-point.
“For over 85 years the YWCA has been a place of inclusion and diversity,” YWCA Chief Operating Officer Danielle Cylich said in a statement. “These themes shine through in our camp productions where 200 children and staff collaborate to produce something from the heart.”
This summer, more than 600 children attendedthe YWCA’s four camps. There is free, on-site parking off of North Street.
