Purchase (10577) was the most expensive zip code in Westchester with a median asking price for condominiums and starter homes of just over $2.3 million, Forbes said. Purchase was ranked 74th overall.
Forbes enlisted the help of real estate analysis firm Altos Research in order to compile the list. Altos and Forbes compiled the median asking prices for single family homes and condominiums in over 28,000 zip codes and used a 90-day rolling average to determine the rankings.

?The top ranking zip code nationwide is Atherton, Calif. (94027) which has a median asking price of $9.03 million, Forbes said.
Suffolk County's Sagaponack (11962) was second overall and the most expensive zip code in new york with a median asking price of $6,433,076.
