Three customers in Harrison still were without power Tuesday afternoon, more than two weeks after Hurricane Sandy wiped out power to millions across the tri-state. Con Edison is the utility for 9,470 customers in Harrison.

Con Edison CEO Kevin Burke offered an apology to the company's customers throughout Westchester and New York City at a Thursday press conference.

“I am sorry for what happened. I am very sorry for what happened,” Burke said. “We’ve worked on this very hard. We made a significant number of improvements after Hurricane Irene. Unfortunately, this one came in so much greater than what we were planning for.”

The company was helped by utility crews from around the country, including crews from California and Texas, to deal with the worst power-outage storm in its history.

Con Edison said 271 Westchester customers were without power as of 4:17 p.m. Tuesday. The company serves 348,198 customers in Westchester.
