Belmont Keeps it Cool on Primary Day

HARRISON, N.Y. -- On the day of his primary election against Mayor and Supervisor Joan Walsh for the Independence Party line, Harrison's Ron Belmont showed no signs of nerves as he donated blood downtown.

Residents packed the Veteran's Memorial Building Tuesday for an American Red Cross blood drive sponsored by the Harrison Emergency Medical Services and hosted by the Harrison Chamber of Commerce.

Belmont said there were times he couldn't donate because of high blood pressure, but the day of his primary election didn't contribute any stress.

"It's all good," Belmont said.

Harrison Chamber of Commerce President Ada Angarano said Belmont was a frequent donor and was a familiar face to the local blood drives.

The primary election results will be released Tuesday night.
