Best Time To View Northern Lights Will Be Midnight Friday In Harrison

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A solar flare shot in the direction of Earth could provide residents of Westchester a rare look at the Northern Lights on Friday night, according to accuweather.com

Optimum viewing time is expected to be around midnight.

The strong solar flare will provide the light show for much of the northern half of the United States. Westchester and the surrounding area are forecasted to have a "fair" viewing of the show, accuweather.com said. 

Residents should also take note that flares of this magnitude can also have adverse effects on electronics like cell phones, GPS devices and satellite reception, accuweather.com reported.
