Candidates to Speak in West Harrison Public Forum

HARRISON, N.Y. - Select Harrison candidates up for election in November including Mayor and Supervisor Joan Walsh (D), opponent Ron Belmont (R, C, I) and town council candidates Stephen Malfitano and Fred Sciliano (R) and Howard Hollander (D) will participate in a public forum Wednesday night in West Harrison.

The two-hour forum is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. inside the West Harrison Senior Community Center at 251 Underhill Ave. It  was organized by the West Harrison Neighborhood Association.

Democratic candidate for town council and incumbent Patrick Vetere may not attend due to medical troubles, according to WHNA Secretary Angela Amodeo.

The public forum will revolve around the Walsh-Belmont race for town mayor and supervisor and will also feature discussions with Democratic and Republican town council candidates.

Amodeo said each candidate will respond to one pre-submitted question and other on-the-spot questions afterwards. Voters will be allowed to ask questions in a public session later, if time permits.

The race for town clerk between Frank Corvino (D) and Jackie Greer (R) will not be included in Wednesday's forum for the sake of time, Amodeo said.
