Castelli: Harrison Workshop to Discuss Job Growth

HARRISON, N.Y. - Assembly member Robert J. Castelli (R, C - Goldens Bridge) will bring an economic discussion to SUNY Purchase in Harrison this week with a workshop on the state's new Consolidated Funding Application.

As part of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's initiative to stimulate job creation and economic growth, the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council will host the public event, scheduled for Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. inside the Purchase College Performing Arts Center.

The workshop will include an overview of the CFA process followed by information sessions on specific funding available for the following project types.

The CFA was created to serve as the single-application economic development that projects must complete to access the $1 billion in state resources made available to support the Regional Councils, Castelli said. The application allows access to multiple funding sources from dozens of existing programs, making it quicker and easier to receive money.

Once the CFA is submitted by the applicant, it goes to the local Regional Council to be reviewed and ranked as part of its strategic planning process. Application materials and a guidebook are available online at http://nyworks.ny.gov.
